John Mark Cobern, CPA was born and raised in Mt. Pleasant Texas. He is a graduate of Mt. Pleasant High School. Mr. Cobern attended Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas where he graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting. In 1996, Mr. Cobern was accepted into the Professional Program in Accounting at Texas A&M University where he received a Masters of Science in Accounting.

Mr. Cobern began his career at Arthur Andersen L.L.P. during which time he became a Certified Public Accountant. While at Arthur Andersen, Mr. Cobern worked with high wealth individuals in the areas of financial planning, tax, and estate planning. After leaving Arthur Andersen, Mr. Cobern attended law school at the University of Houston Law Center.

After graduating from law school in 2000, Mr. Cobern moved to Mt. Pleasant Texas and became a partner at Rolston & Cobern Law Law Firm L.L.P. Mr. Cobern was a partner at Rolston & Cobern Law Firm, L.L.P. for 10 years.

During that time, Mr. Cobern's areas of practice included probate law, estate planning, family law, criminal law, and civil litigation. Beginning January 1, 2009, Mr. Cobern was elected Titus County Attorney, a position he currently holds. In 2010, Mr. Cobern's partner and father, Robert Rolston, was elected 276th District Judge and took the bench January 2011. Beginning January 2011, Mr. Cobern started a new firm, The Cobern Law Firm. The Cobern Law Firm's primary practice areas are estate planning, family law, guardianship, probate law, and civil litigation.

Mr. Cobern is a commissioned officer in the U.S. Army's JAG Corps. Mr. Cobern is presently serving in the United States Army Reserve and currently holds the rank of Major.

Mr. Cobern is also an adjunct professor at Northeast Texas Community College where he teaches principles of accounting, business law, and personal finance. Mr. Cobern is a Member of the State Bar of Texas, Rotary, American Legion, and State Bar College. Contact Us
